ATM Gallery NYC
54E Henry Street NY NY 10002
April 7 – April 30, 2023

Noritoshi Mitsuuchi : Listen II

ATM Gallery NYC is pleased to present Listen II, a solo exhibition of new paintings by Noritoshi Mitsuuchi, on view at 54E Henry Street in NYC through April 30, 2023. Resembling children’s drawings, or, perhaps more accurately, an adult’s interpretation of a child’s imagination, Mitsuuchi taps into memories of unfettered creativity and in doing so celebrates youthful ideas of fantasy, many of which are lost along the path to adulthood. Sourcing inspiration from popular culture and ancient art forms, Mitsuuchi evokes characters from Japanese folklore and European fairy tales, as seen via his depiction of knights, princesses, dragons, and cats, whom he employs as avatars of his own experiences and emotions.

Shelter

127 Eldridge St. New York, NY 10002

April 20 - May 21, 2023

Sally Paul : Banana Walk

Shelter is proud to announce Sally Paul’s solo exhibition “Banana Walk”. Made from acrylic, acrylic peels and painting medium on wood panel, the work evokes toothsome textiles with a focus on texture, finish, color interactions, simple geometric compositions and framing devices. Paint is poured and squeezed rather than dabbed and brushed. Wavering pressure, errant air bubbles, and subtle movements of the body are all captured and encapsulated in the paint, creating clues pointing the viewer to the artist’s hand and process.
