Clayton Schiff : Puddle Drinkers

56 Henry is pleased to present Puddle Drinkers, an exhibition of new paintings by Clayton Schiff. Schiff creates visually playful paintings with underlying sly, psychological twists. In a muted palette, he stages surreal visual narratives with anthropomorphic figures in familiar yet otherworldly places. His creatures occupy a wide array of emotional registers as they oscillate between public and private life, urban and natural settings, laborious and leisurely activities.

Our 10th anniversary show will consist of three distinct but related parts: Interior Resonances, an exhibition of sculptures, prints, and paintings in the gallery’s main space, curated by Regine Basha. CT::SWaM’s Plasticity Office in the gallery’s showroom, designed by sound engineer, artist and curator Daniel Neumann. A microcinema in the gallery’s downstairs media room featuring an ongoing montage of past performances and interviews, and a weekly screening series.

Ai Madonna : THE TAME DOG and THE HARE

GR gallery is pleased to announce ‘THE TAME DOG and THE HARE’, the first solo presentation of Tokyo-based artist, Ai☆Madonna, in the U.S. The exhibition features the artist newest series of portraits that derive from her recurring reveries, related to the almost total lack of childhood and adolescence memories. These artworks are the result of a systematic research and a fanciful visualization, of how her girlhood would have been.
